Let Only Service - Fees?

Having had a quick ring around I've been quoted between 10-15% for a let only service, which is already significantly more than I've paid previously, even if that was admittedly a couple of years ago. Coupled with the fact that I'm a rubbish negotiator, can anyone advise on whether this really is the going rate for this service or if they can be negotiated down (and how far)? Any Agent recommendations that provide a reasonable balance between fees and service (from a Landlords' perspective) ......

The cost depends on what you are marketing to a certain extent; 10-15% for letting a room or studio is not unreasonable but if it were a 3 bedroom house for instance, I know we could offer you a significantly better deal. Its a 2 bed flat by Peckham Rye park - on a let only basis, if that helps ....... I was anticipating fees being less than 10% ....

They'll all quote 10% but they'll also negotiate. Go and see them face to face, let them know your seeing a few different agents. I usually offer them 7% and end up paying 8%.
