    • I did the super techy thing of submitting your second sentence to a Google search, and got this "AI Overview", followed by a string of some offerings from more specialised forums.  Submitting another selection might lead to some different hits. "To fix sound loss when switching to a Virgin Media box, change the audio output settings on your TV or box from "Auto" to PCM 5.1 (or stereo) and set the TV's digital output to Bypass. If that fails, check for HDMI-ARC/CEC issues, ensure cables are secure, and power cycle both the TV and Virgin box." I'd try some of that, step by step, and also see if anything else suggested in the other search finding look possibly relevant to your situation and at the right technical level for you.   Be wary of false positives of course -- people confident that they have the right solution because it worked for them. I'm grappling myself with a difficulty one computer has with usually getting its HDMI audio output audible via one tv: next stage is to try a trial implantation into it of an EDID file telling it what formats a connected tv will be happy with.
    • Perhaps you could post the make and model of TV and soundbar
    • I can’t seem to find the original post or person in my DMs.    in 2013/14 someone had a large wheel of string fairy lights. They were white string and there were options of warm and white lights. I hired them for (I think) £20 for the day. They listed it for hire for parties, weddings, Christmas etc. I’m not sure how long they were (50m or 100m?).   if you have something similar or were the person who listed these, I’m looking to hire again for a small event on c. Mar 17th. Easier to hire off someone rather than buy myself and store away for another 12 years.   Thank you.
