I realise that there was football on yesterday & it meant a lot to people, but I was shocked last night when walking down Overhill Road around 3am to hear what can only be described as a debauched party going on, on the ground floor of one of the houses over the brow of the hill. It would appear these people had no consideration for others, as peels of laughter & shouting came from the open window, with loud music being played! I stopped for a moment to see people dancing in their front room, but moved off quickly as I feared any comment on my part may be encouraging some sort of aggressive response !

I was in two minds whether to call the police, but choose not due to the general feelings of disappointment that was in the air over the England game, and put it down to this, though none of them sounded disappointed. I feel this sort of behaviour is indicative of the moral decline of our nation & I wondered if these crazed drugged up lunatics did not have some sort of job to go to Monday morning ! A very sad day both for the Nation & for Overhill Rd.

Ah I see what you mean, the tell tale signs, I didn't really want to get close enough to find out, I'm sorry that i cant give you much more information !

p.s. I have just read a previous post of yours in which you say you once poo'd behind the couch ?

Bravo Daizie !

Well I shall put this whole incident (the one last night) behind me & put it down to the heat & the football. hopefully there wont be a repeat performance of that scale until 2014 ! I guess also that I probably shouldn't be so sour about people enjoying themselves either, it's only because I'm not getting any, I'm so grumpy. A pleasure chatting to you, & look forward to the next time....

Get over it KidneyP! And here's another sclamation! And 'ere's one more!

See how you like it yourself, as I reckon Huckleberry Finn once made remark 'pon.

Stop it now KP, it seem to me that it was a group of yout' dem just followin' their natural instinct an' ting, let de yout' dem flow wit' their naturalness and nah interfere wit' nah f*ckery.

KP, 'ope dis fine you as it leave me.

One Love.

I have just had to get a friend of my wife's teenage daughter to de code your message for me. But I believe between us & the use of an online urban dictionary we have got the general 'jist' of what you said.

'Good point, well made', I believe is the correct expression.

Technically, it was not last night but early this morning!

'Tings irie, well dread' is 'ow me an' me bredrins would a put it, so fine an' all.

Me spar Bredda Clarence want to pint out, dat him would a' spell 'jist', 'gist'.

So.

Bredda Clarence, 'im quite da stickler in dese mattas.

One Love.

Indeed, & it would appear that your 'Bredda' Clarence is quite right in regards to the spelling of 'gist', meaning the central idea of things. As opposed to my incorrect spelling of 'jist' which would appear to be an abbreviation for 'joint integrated satellite technology !

Anyway 'one love' to you and yours & do have a rather lovely week.

    • St.Christopher's never says no! Adult shop, anyway
    • It's such an uneven provision, I live just west of E Dulwich towards Herne Hill/Dulwich Village and there are four Post Office counters within 10 mins walk max. They are all in local shops and provide a great service.
    • Wanted to come on and do a review for DRJ Builders as I know how hard it is to find good quality and reliable builders in the area! David O'Brien and DRJ Builders are more than that - they are an absolutely brilliant building firm who we can highly recommend. We used them to do a side return extension, loft extension and full house renovation in 2016. They did such a great job, we have just used them again to add on a new rear extension to the ground floor in 2025. David is great to work with from start to finish and has a fantastic team of tradespeople who always deliver a very high standard of work. Would highly recommend them. You can get David on 07960 938621.
    • They do have other lockers where you can drop off parcels, as well as some shops who will take them. If you use the Royal Mail app, or website, you can also arrange for collection of parcels from your house. The service is actually pretty good (and a lot easier than going to the post office). There are a lack of Royal Mail lockers though. Would be good to get some more - perhaps one on North Cross road? They don't need to be outside the Post Office necessarilly.
