Ginger East Dulwich cat found.

Hi, I?m Bas and the manager at Brick House caf?. This morning we found a ginger cat lying on the floor out side the bakery. Unfortunately I am bearing bad news. It looks like the cat has been hit by something and it is now no longer with us. I got my partner to bring the cat to the vets at pet at home (Black heath branch) as that is the only one we know that was open on a Sunday. They are trying to scan the cat and see if it was micro chipped.

But if anyone knows who the owner is. Please contact me, as they might want to give it a final goodbye.

There is a ginger cat that visits the EDT. it seems to come and go. I do not think it lives there.

I have seen this cat in the road .. Lordship lane late at night..

The EDT will know if the cat has gone missing.

I'm sure it was there last night. ??

ETA. Thank you for your kind concerns..

Hi Bas,

It was indeed George, sadly.

We got a call from the vet late this morning, to let us know the bad news and that there had been nothing they could do for him.

We'll be going to collect his remains tomorrow.

Thanks for everything you did this morning Bas, appreciated.

We used to get him collars with our number on it, but he lost so many we gave up on them in the end.

Sad as with the collar we'd have heard sooner, we're only live 2 mins from the Brickhouse.

I might pop round to the Brickhouse tomorrow to have a quick chat if you're open and about.

Thanks again.

Shame on whoever it was who ran into him and left to suffer alone.

I'll post something else here in the forum, as he was a well know and loved cat.

Rob

That is very sad. But if it had not been the 'Pub' cat it had to be somebody's cat.

He will be sorely missed by staff and customers at the E.D.T.

He was a friendly fellow that loved the attention... but moved on when he had had enough.

That's what cats do.

Really upset about this.

Rob I'm truly sorry for your loss. We were all heart broken this morning when we saw him. At first we thought he was just sleeping he looked so peaceful. I won't be in tomorrow as the cafe is closed but please pop in anytime from Tuesday on. Again so so sorry for your loss.

    • The Commons Public Accounts Committee questioned both the CEO and MD of Capita yesterday, at their last meeting before the recess:  https://committees.parliament.uk/event/25889/formal-meeting-oral-evidence-session/.  In October they'd already expressed concern that Capita might not  be able to efficiently retake over responsibility for the administration within the timescale. Given the joint statement recently issued by Capita and the Cabinet Office I'm not sure that contacting an MP is going to add much, other than venting what I think most of us can probably appreciate of what those affected are likely  to be thinking and feeling; unless perhaps, and I hope it's not needed, to report on deficiencies in the immediate rescue actions.
