I have phrased this question in another way. I would prefer no comments rather than people off loading their negative, frustrated emotions on to this thread, it helps no one but themselves. The question is out of interest because I am in the process of researching the possibility of living in a motor home full time for a few years to save. Just wondering if anyone in this forum has done such a thing and within the law whether it is possible to do. I know travelers do it but I think they have special rights. Thanks in advance

sounds like a fantastic idea!

I just googled 'people who live in a motor home' and there's lots of pages

You won't be alone and I'm quite jealous!

If the cost of buying a narrow boat and paying mooring fees is feasible for you M.R. I would seriously consider it. My sister and her family lived on one happily for many years. Do you need to live in London? Moorings are obviously cheaper outside the city. They pretty much built the boat themselves - buying the hull of a Thames lighter barge and then constructing living quarters over about a year. During this time they lived in a portakabin welded to the top of the barge - they installed basic bathroom and kitchen facilities in it. They were lucky to have the skills to do this. It is of course quite possible to buy one 'ready made'. It's common to buy a boat in one location and then have it towed/sail it to the place where you've got your mooring.

    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
    • I thought I noticed the shop being redecorated the other day when I passed. Also the old Romeo Jones had some works going on, I think
    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.
    • My dog has to be medicated to cope with  bonfire night. She’s a rescue so I don’t know what traumatic abuse she experienced. I love the fact that you, Dave CPR, are so unaware of how another can be affected by something that does not personally affect yourself. Blissful ignorance. Lack of Empathy. Cold hearted.
