The road was taped off from the corner of Belvoir Road. I arrived home at 5pm and there were at least 3 or 4 police cars, lots of police searching the grass at the front of the estate. There was police tape from the corner of Belvoir Road up to the width of the Dawson Height estate in Overhill Road which meant no traffic could get through.

People wanting to pass through the tape were being signed in by a police woman.

Most of the police left the area by 7.15pm although one car remained.

The previous night we had the 'excitement' of a flashing/siren fire engine which was putting out a fire in a garden opposite Dawson Heights.

just heard a young lady, possibly a jogger was stabbed in the back... apparently two guys in a works vehicle were there at the scene helping to comfort her. been told shes in hospital getting treatment....

as we all know at times like this theres always rumours so i can't say how much of this information is true...

apparently it happened at the bit leading into the estate where the cars enter...

sweetgirl, just saving this to see how accurate it turns out to be.

Probably wiser not to stick this on here til you know it's true, then.

my friend who lives on the estate told me about it..... but as we know no matter how close you live to the scene of the crime, people can get there wires crossed. she got this information from her neighbour whose son had seen the woman bending down & holding her tummy when he was coming home from school....... this was before the police arrived. the police also questioned her son about what he saw.

    • I would like to recommend Aaron, who has just finished 5 days plastering work in my house. He is professional , polite, tidy, punctual and reliable. He did a fantastic job, a good price and a top quality finish. Highly recommended! Aaron Manser 07773 410661
    • Sadly, but not unreasonably, councils find it difficult to justify such expenditure on their current budgets. My family, which does like fireworks have been enjoying the displays by those still with disposable wealth by viewing them from Hilly Fields. Other hills (Dawson Heights) are available. For children who have autumn and winter birthdays, a firework display is some consolation for their birthday climate. My grandchildren, being summer babies, can enjoy garden parties and picnics. Without the need for explosions and dazzling display.
    • Hey - I’ve got a spare adult ticket if you want it?
    • Not sure what you mean by "involved with firework enjoyment"? I'm all for others enjoying themselves, and I like fireworks, but if they were limited to public displays then people could still enjoy them? Having said that, I see that tickets for the London New Year fireworks start at £20 (Dawson's Heights it is,  then!) The fireworks in Brockwell Park used to be free. I don't know why those don't happen any more?
