Hi there,

Im returning to work soon and am thinking of dropping my toddlers to nursery by bike (nursery have agreed to keep the bike safe. The roads to nursery are fairly flat. Does anybody have any ideas about the safest way to travel with 2 children on the bike. Trailer or one of those bikes where the children sit in front? Does anybody have one of these bikes that they want to sell?

Kind Regards,

Monique

I have a ridgeback trailer which cost in the region of ???130-40 I bought it from Evans, I did try their steel construction trailer but it was quite heavy with 2 kids in so I opted for their aluminium trailer which was worth it and light as a feather, I could still take them out in it when they were 6 and 4 years old. The heaviness may not be such a concern if you are only going on flat roads for short journeys. Generally I felt really happy taking the trailer out I certainly noticed when cars came up behind me they gave me a wide berth and with a flag on the back felt car drivers saw me and the trailer. On busier roads I would go on the pavement if it looked nice and wide, but you generally get to know the best routes and where you feel safest. The trailers that go on the back of the bike- you can detach very easily and lock up for the day to save you having to take it out all day. Good luck on your search - it is a lovely way to get about! p.s have a look on ebay - they come up pretty often.

    • Gosh, calm down.. How about not getting so heated, and not eat for 24 hours with sips of water? Try it and you may, just may understand, starvation, no water. No meds at all even if you need them - hasten to add, don’t do it at all if you are medically dependent. In fact, why doesn’t ED - do this for half a day - say in Oct, when everyone has come back from enjoying their, hols, new term starting and as a community, we could all be 1.? Before, November, fireworks, etc.
    • Many thanks I have sent them a message
    • Stop foreign aid spend and re-direct those funds to improve the lives of UK citizens.  People shouldn't have to rely on charities and food banks, their is enough food wasted in this country already which could be re-directed.  Let their own Govts feed them, why does the UK have to do it, how about other nations contributing.  Well if aid can't reach them, how are they supposed to be fed if as you say food parcels being dropped from planes doesn't work.  Lets sort out this country first and put UK citizens first for a change.
    • Well that really is not Christian Spirit at all - we all live in this world and yes, totally agree that it would be wonderful to have no conflict in the world but that is not possible. Yes we have people in need of food  in this country but overall enough charities and organisation in the west to help. We are talking about thousands of people who are starving - not just going hungry - a huge difference would you not agree ? Aid can’t reach people - for whatever conflict and don’t think people dropping parcels, boxes etc from planes would be the answer either.
