I thought there were street cameras on all the lamp posts

on North Cross Rd.

I'm sure I have seen these small cylindrical devices that point downwards.

Not sure if they are still there.

Were they removed when the Street lights were upgraded ?

This website is rather nifty

It's a google maps mash up where historic photos are shown on google maps and when clicked upon are superimposed over street view. A date slider allows you to narrow down the time period taken, ie if you're interested in war time damage say.

Sort of thing t'interweb is actually good for.

Can anyone tell I'm not spending all day looking after my son anymore?

"Does anyone know where in Lordship Lane the railway bridge stood that was demolished please?"

Right at the top of Lordship Lane where it becomes London Road; next to junction with Wood Vale.

More details here: http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/l/lordship_lane/index.shtml

See picture below shows; The Tram pictured is outside Hornimans Gardens opposite the foot of Sydenham Hill.

The bridge was above the junction of Lordship Lane, Wood Vale, London Road and Sydenham Hill.

East Dulwich Station was never named as Lordship lane for the simple reason it was not in Lordship Lane but Grove Vale.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
