Hi Ladies and Little Ones

After the great success of the last two weeks 'mums meet ups' in the park to make new local mum friends next weeks meet up (wdc 12th july) will be Wednesday 14th July, meet at 2.30pm at the Main Gates (opp picture gallery).

This is a meet up of local and surrounding area mums who have little ones of all ages and are on mat leave or are a SAHM and want to make new local friends in similar situation!. I started it as I was looking for exactly that and have had a great turn out for the first two meets and met some lovely people. Don't be shy, we are all in the same boat.

If you would like to come along then see you there, all are welcome, any questions just PM me or if you cant make that day or that time pm me also and I can let you know what else is planned.

Looking forward to seeing lots of mums again from the other meets and meeting new ones as well!.

Hi Louloulabelle, just thought would say hello after disappearing off radar since first meet. Was lovely to meet you and the other mothers, and O and I have only vanished due to being evacuated to Granny's in Dorset after moving in to our new flat and facing complete renovation. Once we are back we'd love to join you all again. Seems you have started something here! Hope you, E and bump are enjoying the summer. F

    • LOL, no Sue, definitely Musk Turtles.
    • They will have some rationale for this, but it feels like a deliberate testing of the waters, to see how much of the park they can take, with the trackway right across the length of the whole playing fields and the new and exceedingly ugly, extended footprint. My guess is soon we will see further encroachments and extensions and even more events, from other organisations. Peckham Rye is on course to be a giant, summer-long event space, just like Brockwell Park. I have just checked Southwark Council licensing and it seems the intention is to use the Gala infrastructure to mount events, this may only the extra 'family' day but 6 days are mentioned. The Licensing Sub-Committee heard from the representative for the Applicant who advised that the purpose of the application was to present a family festival day and two live concert days to take place in Peckham Rye Park in May/June within the existing site operated by We are the Fair/Assembled Gala.  The Applicant would work in collaboration with the Peckham Festival on the events falling on the weekend after GALA. GALA normally is held on the late May Bank Holiday Weekend.
