Eliza.D
Question to any historians out there. I work in the Walworth area and whilst i don't pay much attention to Rd names and buildings, recently i have been aware of lots of references to Trafalgar and The Victory.Victory HouseVictory SchoolThe Victory(Pub)x2Trafalgar AvenueI was told that before the Heygate was built the Road names had more references to the battle of Trafalgar. My question, Are the names to commemorate the battle or did the Walworth area of SE London have a more significant role in the battle. It is not far from the Thames, but also not that close. Maybe it was a place that saliors lived. Just interested if anyone knows.I have discovered recently that both Bermonsey and Rotherhithe are vey interesting and worth a look around.
