MichaelR88
Witnessed a drive by mobile phone theft from a moped. At DN bus stop this evening. Police called and account given. Apparently they have been taking opportunities all evening. Be careful. Earl Aelfheah
That sounds preplanned as opposed to opportunistic. singalto
We are frequently told not to use phones in the street to avoid having them stolen. Sue
Bus stops are identified by letters on top, and if you are using a phone app to check bus arrivals, it will use that bus stop ID. Passiflora
Oh no, I love the bus stop time ins! Like many people I don't rely on a phone for everything but hope the thief gets caught! LCW
My husband just had his iPhone stolen by 2 youths on a moped along East Dulwich Rd. Be vigilant people as police said it is a huge problem in this area! first mate
The scenarios below do show a lack of joined up thinking. On the one hand we are advised we should not use technology in the street because it is a thief magnet, but transport companies are making it necessary by using phone apps for tiemtables. Another example is parking, where old coin operated boxes are replaced by phone-in with payment by credit card. JohnL
I know it's inconsistent, but we just have to make a decision I suppose. I have headphones on half the time so it's pretty obvious where the phone is, it's pointless having technology if you're afraid to use it because of some scumbags.Hope someone steals their mopeds.
