We have used Darren from Beechway Joinery quite a few times now and always been very happy with his work. You do have to chase him sometimes to confirm a fitting date but his work is very good.

I'm happy for you to PM me if you want a picture, I'm sure I have one of a cabinet/bookshelf he fitted in my old flat.

His number is 07861 248428.

i just wanted to recommend my carpenter/handyman Rob. he is fantastic! helped me out a lot with my flat, especially storage solutions for all my kids stuff, shelves in most rooms, skirting and boxing in pipes. he'll be sorting out my wardrobe after the new year. he is reliable, quick and super friendly. he did a great job, even with my two lil ones running around (and watching him, asking a million questions lol). ill pm you his number x

Adding my recommendation for Rob, after reading mibbious' post Rob has been doing lots of jobs for me: fitting skirting boards, floorboards, architrave, door locks, hanging a very heavy mirror and currently mending a chair.

Really nice guy and very capable carpenter. Rob's no. 07757 526818

    • I've not engaged in this debate so far but you can't be more wrong. In the UK our own language is English, there is a small minority who can rightly claim their language is Welsh or Gaelic, and a couple Cornish. British Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Christians, atheists etc will usually speak British, even if not their first language.  The vast majority will be able to understand English.   A small percentage, less than two percent, of people living in the UK have little or no English (census data).  It is right that in certain situations eg schools there is signage and information in other languages, providing public information. It is wrong that a political party do this, particularly one who came across as opportunist on this occasion. There is an interesting conversation about British expats living, for example, on the continent, where I expect huge swathes who can hardly say a word of French, Spanish etc.
