Has anyone rented a group of villas in Spain or Portugal as opposed to one large villa? We have 4 families each with 2-3 children under 11 and would ideally like to rent 4 villas that share a pool and play areas. Would rather not be on a large site where there are other villas/apartments. I'm not sure we'll find what we're looking for in which case we'll opt for one large villa instead, but if anyone does have recommendations, please pm.

Thanks.

Hiya, I think the term most commonly used for this type of set up is "cluster" eg "villa cluster", "cottage cluster" etc. So you could try googling eg villa cluster mallorca or family-friendly villa cluster algarve and you might get more relevant results. Also websites like babyfriendlyboltholes allow you to search for just property clusters.

I don't think it's an unusual set up, so wouldn't have thought it would be impossible to find, but I can't make any personal recommendations, sorry. Hope the above is useful anyway :-)

If you could consider a different location my family and I recently visited France, we stayed in a gitte - farmhouse and converted outbuildings. There's 3 in total but a couple are quite large and would accommodate 2 families sharing to fit your numbers. Here's the link if you fancy it www.frenchfarmhouseholiday.co.uk. Great for kids, swimming pool, pool table, zip wire in the woods, bikes, forest walks etc.

    • Isn’t a five yearly electricity safety certificate one of the things the landlord must give for a legal tenancy?
    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.
