Paul Daniels never actually sawed Debbie Mcghee in half.

Pity.

Mel Blanc, who was the voice of Bugs Bunny, was allergic to carrots.

I think this one is a myth - he used to crunch on carrots to get the sound effect, and them spat them out... but only because eating it would leave a long gap in the dialogue.

Oh-kay, prepared to stand corrected John K.

For once, my BS button wasn't switched on and I thought I was *reliably* informed on this by a local historian (and not a bloke dahn the pub either).

Naff is an unpleasant naval term for a woman who is considered perhaps 'uncomely'.

It's an acronym for either 'Not Available For Fun' or 'Nasty As F*ck' with a slilent not to say meaningless 'F' thrown in.

It really all depends which bloke down the pub you choose to believe.

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
