Has anyone been to The Mansion in Sydenham? Supposed to be quite good... anyone had good/bad experiences?

Ermmm, it's OK-ish if you like that cocktail & piano , large glasses of white wine "vibe"

Oh & people popping back & forward to the loo's "all-night-a-thon"

Mind you that's happening most place, it's like the land of the living dead out there

The ubiquity of coke nowadays is one the most tedious things in the world...tsk...even at Upton Park nowadays you can't get in a cubicle at half time for a tommy what with all the Essex boys in there sharing and snorting

I know...

I went to a very very nice garden party the other day ( well on paper )

Father made a touching speech ( though what the f*ck the child made of it ) with his jaw to one side

Lovely food & tons left over as half the people "just not hungry" though you could have made a landfill site with all the empty bottles.

All staffed with waiters & servers etc, very cool & urban london vibe ( bletch )

By 10.30 more "orders" were literally being delivered by "I'm the drug dealer" who was summoned like a pizza delivery company

I couldn't get a sensible word ( yeah me, ha ) out of anybody & left by 11.00

It resembled the "Thriller" promo vid but with paunchy middle aged couples & gay men dancing around

It were class ( if that's your bag )

Mansion was redone by the folks what done the Rye Hotel. they then moved on to Penge and sold it on. I haven't been for a couple of years but it's pleasant enough on a summer's afternoon

Yeah it's ok but doesn't have the charm of rye hotel. The pub the old owners have in penge is great. Heading to mansion this avo as it happens. Not sure about the coke supply though.
