Sunday November 27th 2-4pm

PUSH studios, 17-21 Blackwater Street, London. SE22 8SD (just off Lordship Lane)

?30

A 2 hour workshop covering asana (yoga postures and gentle yoga flow sequences), breathing (essential techniques to use in labour), relaxation and beautiful mantras. There will also be a chance to discuss specific issues and worries, not to mention tea, cake and plenty of sweet treats. You'll take home a pack of useful and inspiring materials to help you to continue with breathing techniques and a pregnancy yoga practice at home.

WHY DO PREGNANCY YOGA?

Pre-natal yoga is empowering and enables women to feel prepared and confident about their pregnancy and labour. Practicing yoga in pregnancy can also keep you strong, calm and help you bond with your baby.

DO I NEED TO HAVE PRACTICED YOGA BEFORE?

Absolutely not. The workshop is open to all pregnant women whether you have practiced yoga before or not. There will be ways to modify poses for different stages of pregnancy as well as for any pregnancy-related issues such as PGP, lower back problems, morning sickness and carpal tunnel.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE WORKSHOP?

Welcome and introductions

A pregnancy yoga flow

Breathing practices for different stages of labour as well as for anxiety in pregnancy or during the postnatal period

Deep relaxation

Tea and cakes and further questions

    • Ah that was it.... When you realise politicians are only ever in it for themselves then everything starts to make sense.
    • Yup. Student politics. https://bright-green.org/2012/04/09/democracy-and-direct-action-an-interview-with-edinburgh-universitys-new-student-president-james-mcash/
    • I wonder whether his political epiphany and renaissance will stretch to him using his real name - James Ashworth-McLintock - rather than the more proletarian 'McAsh'. To my mind, the only people who should have self-bestowed mononyms are very talented Brazilian footballers - Pele, Kaka, Ronaldinho - very talented female pop icons - Madonna, Shakira, Sonia - or Russian revolutionaries - Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky. Sonia's greatest hits compilation, 'Greatest Hits', is out now on vinyl & CD through PWL Recordings.
    • Probably more helpful to ask simply whether McCash was affiliated with the Greens before becoming a Labour councillor. Trying to explain your thought process and unravel your fevered imagination (particularly when it comes to local politica) is the kind of thing that might require several years of psychoanalysis.
