hello,

I currently lead a baby music class in West Hampstead for babies up to age three which has times throughout the week and am planning to start a similar regular class in the East Dulwich area. The classes are for a mix of ages from babies up to age three so are sibling friendly and involve sing alongs, dancing and percussion/instrument playing. The classes are always drop in, ?5/class and would be Monday/Wednesday/Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons in East Dulwich.

Ideally I will be starting the classes in the next few weeks and would appreciate any feedback regarding interest/need for such classes in the area and what times/days would be best! There seem to be quite a few other baby music classes in East Dulwich already but they seem to be only once a week, more expensive, age specific or require a term commitment so it appears there may be a need for a class such as mine.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

All the best,

Bea

Bea - I'd start a fresh thread if I were you - that way you'll have everyone look at it fresh - we're always looking for new toddler classes! There was (or is) a great one that sounds very similar to your idea at a local pub on a Friday morning and they charge 3 or 4 pounds I think. I think maybe mornings are best generally as the kiddies are wide awake and generally in a good mood. Its good to have a varied age groups for those moms with more then one kid, but also for those of us who's little one loves watching the older kids too. Good luck - we'll definitely support you if you start up!

Hello Kate, Linzkg and everyone,

I am very excited to announce that my regular drop in music classes for babies and toddlers will be starting in East Dulwich on October 4th! Thank you very much for all your feedback and support regarding interest, times and venues, it was greatly greatly appreciated!

Come sing, dance and play percussion instruments with your baby in a relaxing, sociable, positive atmosphere! Babies and upwards including toddlers and older siblings are welcome so the classes are great for a mix of ages and are sibling friendly. The classes are always drop in, ?5/class and will meet every weekday afternoon except Thursdays as well as Saturday mornings at the Family Natural Health Centre above Soup Dragon at 106 Lordship Lane.

Please see the timetable below. Classes start on Monday October 4th. I'd love to see you there!

Monday 2:30-3:30

Tuesday 3:30-4:30

Wednesday 3:30-4:30

Friday 3:30-4:30

Saturday 10-11

All the best,

Bea

    • If someone comes to my house and bangs my door and slams my gate, I'd speak to them about it nicely and ask if they would please not do that. And then subsequently less nicely if they keep doing it, ending in reporting them.  We don't slam doors at home and I don't put up with that either. I can see us moving to a culture where we bribe drivers to be nice by tipping them, but we shouldn't have to. It's not necessary - does not matter if they are on minimum wage or not, or if society means that delivery services are outsourced or whatever reason anyone would like to concoct.
    • We’ve got a gap on the roof of our shed that needs patching  don’t want to buy a huge roll so hoping someone has some leftover  happy to collect/reimburse
    • I never said I thought it was targeted or deliberate. There also has never been a “stand off” or confrontation, we’ve spoken to them in a friendly manner about it. Our experience is they don’t seem to care. That’s the frustrating thing for us, if someone politely raises a concern at least take a second to reflect. Treat others how you would want to be treated.  I don’t want them to lose their job, far from it. But considering it could cost me a days work to fix any damage, I’m within my right to try prevent it.
