Hi - we're having a bit of a clear out and have a slightly strange selection of stuff available. Quite a lot is brand new stuff we mistakenly ordered and were too disorganised to return. I've suggested prices below, but feel free to make me an offer. Bottles of wine gratefully accepted as alternative payment, and I'm mostly keen to start getting things out the way.

Reupholstered ottoman - ?10 Full disclaimer - I reupholstered this myself and it's not a professional finish - the inside and underneath haven't been neatened up. However it looks fine from the outside, and it's a really useful piece of furniture, with storage inside. Only getting rid as we have a new sofa and don't have space.

Small shelf - ?5

Brand new unopened valspar paint, 5 litres each of Morning Sun (yellow) and Buckskin Chaps (dusky purple). Good quality paint - we've used it for the rest of our house, but changed our minds on colour before using these ones. - ?10 each (?36 each new)

Solid wood toilet seat (brand new, unopened) - ?5 - GONE STC

End bath panel (brand new, unopened) - this one - http://www.betterbathrooms.com/baths/bath-panels/750mm-luxury-acrylic-end-bath-panel/ - ?5 (?29.95 new)

Laminate wood effect work top, about 2m long - free

Door - unpainted wooden door - free

Wickes 1.5 sink template - unused - free

For collection from just off the south end of Rye Lane. We'll be in most of this weekend, or can arrange later collection.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Briony

    • I'm genuinely sorry if I have derailed this thread, which started off as being about a specific burglary in Lacon Road. I will start another thread in the lounge, because I think the general points being discussed are important.
    • Thanks very much for that.   I think the better informed we are, the better our discussions will be. The article contained: "That arrest had quite an impact on the [phone theft] numbers for the following month,” said Green.  Here's another indicator, admittedly a piece of police PR,  of how well-targeted police efforts, mostly invisible to us,  can when successful  seriously affect offending figures: https://news.met.police.uk/news/met-police-drive-down-theft-and-robbery-by-84-percent-in-battersea-and-nine-elms-500495.
    • Another excellent article from Jim Waterson's London Centric reporting https://www.londoncentric.media/p/kitchen-foil-and-algerian-markets?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Interesting that there seem to be favoured and repeated routes for phone snatching for particular thieves.  Seems ED might be one of them ☹️
