Yes definitely - some do young twins for example, so ity might be worth seeking out somebody with that experience. In fact I'd have thought a nanny is probably one of your few options with babies that young.

Simply Childcare (if you google them) are great for finding people and for free advice.

Yes, definitely - gets more challenging for the nanny once both can crawl (in different directions). I'd look for a nanny with experience of working with such young children, and of course one who has a similar child-rearing philiosophy to your own with regard to tinies - e.g. strictness of routine (or not), when to wean etc.

agree with both posts

we do a nannyshare with another baby, same age

we interviewed loads of nanneis with twins experience, and found a great nanny

in a way - your 'methods' i.e. routine or not are probably important to discuss with your other family as well as the nanny

Both parents doing very different approaches might be a pain, but if say you're both routined it makes life a lot simpler/easier for the nanny. It means you can stagger the sleep times by about 15mins so you can feed while the other's asleep etc

    • Who was Diana Rayworth, when 'resting from acting'. Her successful career was very sadly cut short following a devastating accident.
    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
