I know at least two other ladies on here are due with their first baby in October or November.

I'm due with mine on 1st Nov and would love to meet up with other first-timers in the area for a coffee.

Anyone up for it? I'll throw a date out there... morning of Saturday 4th Sept at Luca's on Lordship Lane???

Kerry & Thumper

Hi all,

I can't do the 4th but can prob do the 11th or 12th.

Another suggestion is that if it is difficult to find a Sat we could meet maybe one Thursday evening for a spritzer (not too naughty!) Somewhere like Green & Blue might be good as it has that quite large space at the back that doesn't get too busy.

Looking forward to meeting up, Lou

Yep Thurs 9th works for me.

Shall we say Green and Blue at 7pm?

Coming so far:

Kerry

Claire

Katy

Lou

Anyone else let me know, just because if it ends up being quite a big group then I might give ring wherever we go to reserve a space.

Lou x

p.s. did join the facebook group but I am not very good at facebook! Would it be easier to set up one of those event invite things on there to keep track of who can make it? Anyone know how?!!

Not a first time mom but am coming to the drinks on the 9th (through facebook group). I would suggest we book because it gets very busy - the sofa area would be best. I am happy to call and book if someone gives me numbers. Also would be nice to have something to eat if that's ok with everyone? And I may (definitely will) sneak a glass of wine as well!

Hello all,

hope you are looking forward to next week - thought I should book an area now as it is getting quite close. I don't think many people have confirmed this event on the facebook group so from this thread, current people hopefully attending next Thurs are:

Kerry

Claire

Katy

Lou

'reren'

Jilly

Susan (poss)

'supergolden88'

Han

Helen

Penny

I am sure if anyone else decides to come along nearer the time we can fit you in. I will book a space.

Also - last time I was in there I spotted a poster saying they sometimes do wine tastings on a Wednesday at 3pm and you are welcome to bring babies!! Guess that will suit us for our post baby arrival meet ups!

    • The editing was clumsy and made it look like he said something specific, that he did not. That is obviously wrong, and the BBC have apologised and people have lost their jobs as a result. That said, the overall impression - that Trump repeatedly stated (and still does) that the election had been stolen, that he encouraged his supporters to march on the Capitol, that he repeatedly called for people to fight - in short that he inspired a violent insurrection - is entirely true.  Trump used the word 'fight' 20 times. Whilst his speech was going on, his supporters chanted "Take the Capitol", "Invade the Capitol", "Storm the Capitol" and "Fight for Trump" The documentary generally, was not misleading. The real scandal is that Trump wasn't tried and ended up back in power. I do think that we need to stop normalising Trump. He has a criminal history and is openly corrupt. He has shown himself to be a threat to democracy. The US right and their tech billionaire allies are having an malign impact on UK politics and culture, interfering both directly and indirectly, in ways that we should be doing more to challenge.
