  1. oh what is tippee toes? Is it suitable for 1 year olds?
  2. What you're saying then is that parents with kids cannot go and spend their money in pubs that serve food and would probably not exist without the custom of these families. These pubs on lordship lane are very glad to have the custom and actively encourage business from Mums/families. After all if you hadn't noticed there are a fair few kids in dulwich! If you want to avoid kids and Mums go find a proper boozer that doesn't cater for the people you are trying to avoid.
  3. My 8 month old girl is still breastfeeding and is completely refusing to take a bottle. I'd like to try and stop BF but it's proving really difficult, she's just chewing at the tomee tippee teats and I've also tried the Madela special needs bottle which she's taken once about 4 months ago (while sleeping), but not taking now. We've never given her a dummy so I'm wondering if she just doesnt know how to suck on anyhing that is'nt me?! Suggestions on how to get her away from the boob and onto the bottle would be so gratefully welcomed. thanks x
  4. Hi, My daughter is now 22 weeks and I've noticed that I'm loosing my hair rapidly around my temples. It's also coming out in clumps when I was or brush my hair. I've done a few internet searches and I know this is quite normal but it's still not making me feel any better. I'm still breastfeeding and wondering if it stops after you finish breastfeeding and also when does it grow back, if at all?! eek.
  5. We were burgled in the early hours of this morning. They got through our front window and made their getaway through the front door. Fortunately they only left with my husbands iphone as our dog set off on them so it could have been a lot worse. Just a warning to everyone to remember to lock your windows at night, we didn't last night and obviously came a cropper, our fault I guess but not nice all the same.
  6. All I think is that you need to address this as its quite inconsiderate to your fellow neighbours. I appreciate you had children over for the weekend but the puppy was barking his very loud head off this morning and then again this evening for quite some time, about an hour I think. We took our dog to bobs for puppy training (number on the this forum), not that he's perfect now but I think as responsible dog owners every little bit of advice helps.
  7. Well I think it's a real shame that you're putting your dog under even more stress and causing it to be more 'nervy' by having it outisde all weekend barking, the dog has got to be feeling distressed, that's why they bark. I've had dogs all my life and I know that letting them bark continually is one sure way to stress and scar a dog even more. Your dog's actually stressing out my dog, let alone me and I live quite far from you, so I can only feel for your puppy. Hope you get it sorted soon.
  8. Does anyone know where the barking dog lives? He's been barking all weekend and is clearly in distress. I live on Landells Rd and cant seem to work out if it's coming from the Crystal Palace Rd end or the Barry Rd end. Being a dog owner myslef I'm just concerned for the dogs welfare.
  9. I'm thinking about getting a Costco card but I dont know if you actually save enough to warrent the drive to Croydon and the ?20 yearly fee. I'd probably be buying mainly nappies, baby wipes, dog food etc in bluk. Does anyone have one, or have an opintion on the price difference? Many thanks xx
  10. Yes I'm up for meeting on the 9th too, see you there Jilly xx
  11. Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions. Saffron - what a lovely offer. I already have the net for the pram/moses basket so I might see how we go with those for the moment and hope that the baby's cries keep princess Foxy away - i have a feeling they will. xx
  12. I'm due my first baby in November and have a 2 year old cat (and a dog). I was in John Lewis last week looking at cots and accessories and came accross a cat net for the cot. I have never considered, until now that Foxy would want to climb into the cot, but the thought of it scares the hell out of me. Have other parents with cats bought these nets for their cots or is this a 'scare product'? thanks
  13. I think I left them outside my house on Landells Road, brand new Tom Ford aviator sytle glasses with glod frame. If anyone's picked them up I'd love to have them back. Thanks
  14. supergolden, yes I am going to Kings. The midwife was trying to convince me to have it at home but I think I'll feel more content knowing I'm in safe hands in the hospital!
  15. Hi Kerry, I'm due my first on the 2nd November, so snap! I'm going to pop down to cafe nero tomorrow for a coffee with the other 'autumn babies'. Hope you can pop down, we can swap stories. Jilly xx
  16. Hi Fidgetsmun, Where do you go for pregnancy yoga and pilates classes? Im keen to start one.
  17. I'm on Landells Road so we'll be neighbours! I'm sure I'll see you in the park with the wee one. We didn't find out the sex, want it to e a surprise, what about you?
  18. Hi Hollie, I was just going to ask the same question re the pregnancy yoga class. If I come across a good one I'll let you know. I'm due on the 2nd Nov with my first and I'm with Dulwich Medical Practice on Crystal Palace Road, my midwife is part of The Lanes and is great (all through the surgery). Good luck with the move, where abouts in ED are you moving to? Jilly
  19. He cycled by me in the park on his BMX this morning at about 10.45am, looked back at me and shook his head, he was wearing the same clothes, black trousers, grey hoody/jumper. By the time I got round to the old tennis courts the police were speaking to the boy, he was sitting on the tree trunk again. I gave them a positive ID on him but by the time the wardens had got over to him again he had vanished. They called 999 and had 4 cars and a van out looking for him on the streets but to no avail. They are hot on his heels and very keen to get him as they realise the potential danger that he could be and are patrolling the park daily. Just to let you know that the police said if you see him, call 999 straight away as they are determined to get him and they are very aware of him. I now feel really uneasy being in the park on my own now and think I'm going to walk my dog in Peckham park until he's caught. Such a shame that it's come to this but I am now fearing for my safety.
  20. I've just bought an old pine cot but would like to spruce it up in a nice colour. Can anyone recommend a safe paint to use? Thanks
  21. Yes it does sound like the same boy and a very disfunctional one at that. I went to the wardens office yesterday when I saw him again but they were closed so I reported it at the ED police station as he's obviously not been scared off by the police on Monday.
  22. I knew they were police as I was doing some exercises on the gym equipment and overheard them talking on their mobiles about sightings of someone in the park (turned out to be The Boy they were talking about).
  23. On Monday I was walking my dog around the outside of Dulwich Park as I do every morning and I was approached by a young boy who firstly asked me the time then made some lewd comments while holding on to his genitals. Before this I noticed two undercover police looking for someone so put two and two together and approached them with my story. They were looking for him and ran after him, followed by a police car patrolling the park. I'm not sure if they got him as I saw him in the bushes again yesterday sitting on one of the tree stumps. Please be aware of this boy as although young (maybe around 12-16) he came across very menacing and I did feel rather threatened and intimidated (being 5 months pregnant doesn't help either). He is about 5 foot, short dark hair, very pale skin and was wearing black school trousers and a grey pullover/hoodie type jumper. Jilly xx
