Was thinking of trying the new Victoria Inn, when we got a flier through the door a few days ago about The Montpelier in Choumert Road being under new management.

Full marks for pro-activity, I thought, so we gave it a go last night - very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, really good food (not overpriced) and affordable wine list. Would definitely go back and it's good to have some alternatives to the usual suspects down Lordship Lane. Anyone else tried it?

Oh man ? I like the Montpelier but given how defensive they were when people suspected them of self-promotion before I hope that THIS first-time poster is genuine too

Anyway A_M, there is already a thread in the business section about the Montpelier so I?m closing this one

    • I was bitten by a smallish dog (black terrier type), in lead, yesterday afternoon (Monday 2 March, approx 1.15pm) at the corner of Heber Road and Cyrena Road.  Nothing too serious, but I have a small wound on my calf and a hole in my jeans. The owner (a middle aged woman) couldn't control her dog, pretended it didn't happen and did a runner.  I managed to take a picture of her as she walked away.  Not a great picture but if you recognise her could you please DM some info so I can report the incident?  If only to ensure that she is spoken to, as this is obviously a dangerous dog and is not under control... Many thanks.
    • I've got no wish to discuss this  again. I've already given my views on a previous  thread in the lounge. I take it you won't be voting Green, but I'm wondering quite where you are coming from with all these attacks on them? Where do your political sympathies lie?  This thread was supposed to be about James McAsh's move away from Labour 🙄 Anyway, it is hopefully another nice day and I'm off to do some gardening.
    • We've got a pair of Dunnocks busy nest building in our bay tree.
    • Yes!  Oh dear. I guess all you can do is feel sorry for them and be glad you are not like that.
