Muddy Boots Children's Outdoor Nature Group at the Devonshire Road Nature Reserve. 10-11.30 Monday and Friday

The colder weather means we'll be learning all about hedgehogs and their hibernation this Friday.

We'll be making little clay hedgehogs in the session, building them a leaf nest and thinking about what they'll be eating before they go to sleep. Its a dry morning forecast, but wrap up nice and cosy.

It's hands on, engaging, relaxing, fun, and all outside in the fresh air of the nature reserve. I recommend 14m upwards for the activity but younger welcome to try if keen to come.

Sessions run every Monday and Friday 10-11.30. No need to book ahead, just turn up on the day.

Meet up at the big green iron Reserve gates on Devonshire Road (opposite Tyson road) at 10am. There is on-street parking on Devonshire Road and Tyson Road.

.

It's ?7 per child, ?10 for 2 siblings, child-minded children discount available

    • It’s literal.  There are levels of earners. Those who don’t work and get benefits, those who work and get benefits, those who work but don’t get benefits. now, it’s an assumption that the last group are all wealthy, but that’s not the case. People in this last group are most exposed.. private rent, higher tax brackets, cost of living increases, yet they pay the most tax, and get no help.    So many questions: why are workers needing to be subsidised? Should companies pay more? Should there be private rent caps?  Why are people better off not working at all, or only working low hours to ensure they get benefits top ups?  How do you think people respond to this?     Do you realise that a number of companies are focussing on buying property? The banks, the supermarkets! Yet the government is squeezing individuals out of this equation. What do you think this will look like in the future? When foreign companies own the majority of UK property?
    • All depends on what you call reasonably priced!  Was it for Christmas Day?   Noticed that The Plough were advertising Christmas Lunches but did not see any prices listed.
