  3. Muddy Boots SUNDAY 7th 1.30-3.30pm at the Devonshire Road Nature Reserve SE233SZ(you dont have to stay for the whole session if you get tired!) Come and spend an afternoon at the gorgeous Nature Reserve doing a variety of nature craft activities! Ages from 18m to 12 years. frogs, caterpillars, bees, pond dipping, working with clay, den building, stories and poems. Bring your parents! Drop in session, ?8 per child, ?12 for two.

Do your kids want to have a go at bushcraft, learn about nature and get grubby with some adventurous activities outdoors in the woods? Half term booking is now open!   11. ThIS session is running at the lovely Devonshire Road Nature Reserve in Forest Hill, SE233SZ. On street parking available in surrounding streets. The Reserve is opposite Tyson Road, on Devonshire Road in Forest Hill. There is a classroom to leave buggies, bikes, and bags. Dress for the weather.. which is looking dry!   12. An entemology Muddy Boots session for ALL AGES (from 18m-11 years) is running bank holiday Monday 27th Aug 10am-12. The group will sub divide into ages (18m-5 years) (6- 11). Spaces limited so please let me know if you're coming. We?ll be finding, collecting and learning about bugs, beetles, worms and insects. If you're under 6 we'll probably be calling them bugs and learning about some different types, and if youre over 6 you'll be having a go at classifying them into basic entemology categories. We'll also be working with clay to make our own bugs from air drying clay to take home. Clay monster and seed faces are an alternative! In addition there will be big scale group den building for each age group, a rambling woodland walk, snacks, songs and a lovely peaceful environment. And it?s forecast to be dry! Muddy Boots is an outdoor nature group for children in the lovely Devonshire Road Nature Reserve,Forest Hill, SE233SZ 10.30-12.30 ?8/ child ?12 for 2 siblings. ?15 for 3 siblings. Don?t leave it too late as numbers are limited for these sessions. 23rd July 10-12 24th July 10-12 25th July 10-12 Muddy Boots is opening up to children up to 11 years old for three sessions at Devonshire Road Nature Reserve, Forest Hill (SE233SZ) on 23/24/25th July. Each session will be two hours from 10am -12 Younger siblings and younger children can also come. One parent must accompany children. The activities will be a mixture of bushcraft/ forest school and nature craft. They will include a range of led and free to go activities including: - age appropriate tool work (saws, whittling); den building (big and small); simple weaving craft; knot tying; physical map making; simple classification of bugs and pond life using keys; working with clay; nature badge-making; wooden necklace making. - These are sign-up for sessions - Sessions will be two hours long and a parent must accompany children - For children aged up to 11 (primary school aged). - Space for approx 15 families on each session. - Session price ?10 per child; 2+ children ?20 Booking is now open. This week we?ll be learning all about Bees; looking at real honey comb; tasting honey and making a stripey pine cone bee mobile to take home. Honey bees and bumble bees, queens, drones, their waggle dance communication. Come to increase your bee knowledge and celebrate our British bees. The Reserve is blooming, insects, pondlife, plants and flowers abound, even the occassional reptile! This Reserve has a very concentrated amount of wildlife to show the children. Muddy Boots is hands-on, engaging, fun and all outside in the fresh air of our lovely Nature Reserve. Session starts with time at basecamp to learn about a seasonal aspect of nature. Then there is a linked seasonal activity which may be tool work, craft, construction or working in clay etc. There's always digging, watering, exploring and mud painting to keep you busy in the garden. Then we'll have a walk in the woods (distance to suit your child) and head back to the Basecamp for snacks and drinks, songs, stories or poems.
