  1. MUDDY BOOTS Children's Outdoor Nature Group sessions are held at the Devonshire Road Nature Reserve in Forest Hill. The sessions run all year round, so that way children can get outside and and have fun in all the different seasons and weather! Come and join us for time at basecamp learning about different aspects of nature, there'll be a hands on nature activity (this may be nature investigations, simple tool work, or a seasonal nature craft). We'll be building a big den for all of us, and you will be building tiny dens from sticks and leaves in the wood for your small, strange creature. Then we'll listen to den stories at basecamp. There's also digging, watering and mud painting on offer in the garden. What it is, where it comes from, what problems it causes for wildlife and what we should do with it. We'll be looking at rubbish, thinking about what it's made from and having fun sorting it. Come and learn how to make the ice decorations that will be hanging in the trees! Have a look at the frozen ponds and try your hand at skimming stones across the ice! Look for sparkly frost covered leaves, and write your name/ draw a face in the frost on the wooden table surfaces. Can you come and help dig up a worm for a hungry robin? The soil is frozen hard! It's been so frozen in the nature Reserve this week we need to keep feeding our garden birds. Help us make some bird feeders for the Reserve (or to take home) for your garden birds. Come and try something you've not tried yet, or have another go at an activity if you enjoyed it last time!
