  1. This Friday 13th at basecamp we will be learning all about SPIDERS. From the basics to.. how do spiders reach between two trees spin their web? Do they have good eye sight? What do spiders do with their old webs? We'll be winding wool to make spider webs in the garden and making our own spiders in the meadow. We are lucky to have some beautiful large spider webs and spiders in the reserve at the moment, so we'll then head off to spot them on our walk. Muddy Boots is hands-on, engaging, fun and all outside in the fresh air of our lovely Nature Reserve.As always there's digging, watering, exploring and mud painting to keep you busy in the garden.   2. MUDDY BOOTS Children's Outdoor Nature Group at Devonshire Road Nature Reserve - returns Friday 15th September. Session time is 10-11.30am. Sweetcorn is ripe in the fields, so this Friday we will be making these corn dolls/corn super heros to take home. This Monday 3rd July its DRAGONFLIES and DAMSELFLIES. We'll be learning about these lovely insects and looking for them around our pond and we'll make a dragonfly each to take home. You can arrive any time between 1.30 and 2. This is to enable those needing to leave at 3 (to pick up from schoo) l to come and have the walk/ free play time between 1.30-2. The basecamp learning time and following activity for everyone will start at 2pm. Do come to this one if you can, to relieve the pressure on the morning session and if you want to come to a slightly smaller session! Activities: we may be planting, or sawing and making a necklace or learning about an aspect of some of the wildlife at the Reserve.
