Hi, any recommendations for a local tax specialist/accountant who can assist with self-assessment returns please? Someone who has the ability to keep it as simple as possible would be fantastic! TIA.

Its incredibly easy to do it yourself on line. The hard bit is collecting all the figures which you have to provide to the accountant anyway. But once you have everything to hand you just go though it online page by page and they hold your hand all the way. Couple of hours max. But if you go down that line you will need to reegister now.

It is true that it is very easy to complete online yourself, a good accountant however will know all the tax rules and may be able to save you some money. HMRC will not make it obvious how to save tax, they will clearly be looking to maximise what they get

Thanks all, very much appreciated. I have done myself for a few years but now have added headaches in regards to oversea's income. Filing online now means buying 3rd party software to undertake yourself so I thought I may be able to find someone for roughly the same cost.

I agree it is very easy to complete your tax return online so you might aswell give it a go. However as said previously the hard work is collecting all your figures......that is a pain in the you know what lol

I use to do it myself then last yr used Nicholas ng and co on lordship lane they were so easy and not a bad price if you are organised. 02082991933
