Help Needed! Are you a union Rep and available locally tomorrow night 7pm?

Recommended Posts

My friend is in desperate need of union representation tomorrow evening 7pm at a local establishment. She is not a member but is prepared to join as will other colleagues who have been unfairly treated. The establishment have made serious allegations and have not followed ACAS guidelines.

It would be appreciated if you could only comment on this thread if you are able to help of offer advice.

Thanks in advance.

You may be able to delay the meeting until you have a union rep available.

This is the ACAS helpline. They're open at 8am - give them a call and find out for certain where you stand and what you need to do.

Thanks for your help but we have already been down that route. There are only a few days to appeal a decision and the person in question is trying to delay the meeting to try and see that he appeal deadline is missed.
PM me - I may be able to help but wont know until I know more. Churlish to say but trade unions are members' organisations negotiating collectively whilst supporting the individual. Not some evil empire. Anyway PM me if you don'd mind and the least I can do if offer an opinion - clearly in private
Union membership is not for just when you're in trouble! If this 'friend' of yours was an existing member she would have access to a rep. To avoid being used, there is a qualifying period before representation can take place, and existing issues will not be dealt with to avoid the 'join when in trouble, leave when not' crappy member that no one wants.
I'm well aware of that Grok as I am a union member myself. The 'friend' is a young person in their first casual job and does not have the experience of how rotten life can be when someone tries to exploit them. I'm sure after this, they will see the benefit in joining a union.

    • May  I  suggest you read your posts through before you post them? I'm sorry your attempts at teaching blinds to see have failed. Perhaps it is because they are inanimate objects? And have no eyes? 🤣 May I also suggest that you find a different source of information - one  which presents you with accurate facts? But if you seriously think that Trump is "best us president of last 50 years" (your lower case, not mine) then sadly there is probably little anybody can do to help you.
    • There are many reasons that properties both private and council are empty and these numbers do not signify that they could be moved into tomorrow to reduce homeless numbers. For example, in my terrace of 10 houses, one house is going through probate and another is going through a large scale renovation. 20% non ocupancy seems high until you examine the reasons why. Both will be providing homes in due course, sooner rather than later.
    • My apologies but I can't teach a blind to see yet... may I suggest,  you could try surround yourself with people who see things differently and grow in knowledge and wisdom.
