In my experience it is we in the UK who are particularly slow in offering our seats. When I was 5 months pregnant we travelled to Beijing by train going through 9 countries across Europe and Asia. At that time no one had ever offered me their seat in the UK (and too be fair I felt fine so didn't particularly need one). But everywhere else we went people fell over themselves to offer seats.

Ohhh im good girl then:) i offer my seat as soon as i see a little belly :)) or someone older then my parents.

100% agree with BellendenBear i traveled a lot when i was pregnant and often end up with 2 seats i was huge :)))). Specially in Asia and Midl East.

If i would spend most of my time travelling in Landon public transport i would ask for a sit with my xbig belly :)) Got on train ones and this very young men looked at my belly and turned his face and i said would you like to give me your seat plzzzzz and he start smiling and gone red face but at the and i got his seat :)))

Having worked through 3 pregnancies I think I must commute with a better mannered group of commuters as can count on one hand the number of journeys when I was not offered a seat. Often with SPD it was the transition from standing to sitting that crippled me, so I preferered to stand for the short hop from PRye to LBridge, and usually found myself turning down kind offers. Often, although you think you bump is huge, other people genuinely don't notice. I have huge bumps and found travelling while pg gave me new faith in human nature. I have had other standing passengers shouting down the carriage on my behalf when I was in the crowd by the doors on the tube - poor seated people could not even see me but were still being berated. I always stand in profile to the seated passengers on Jubilee line, so the outline of bump was obvious, rather than facing the seated people iyswim. No badge needed. But i think you have to be realistic about what other people will notice - what seems big and important to you may not be so noticable to others - (obviously by 7 months for most it will be obvious)

    • Disagree. Where are the police when you need them? People want a police presence, they want to feel reassured by seeing them do what the word suggests, policing, so go catch some bad guys, arrest, charge and get the CPS to prosecute with the evidence to enable this to happen. Stabbing and shootings are so common place they no longer even get reported in the public domain. How many crimes don't get solved? Rather case closed and forgotten. The number of low to high level crimes which remain unsolved is staggering.  The criminal fraternity know this, they know they won't get caught so they just carry on.  Biggest crimes which affect most people, probably are phone and car theft, both are prolific and what do the police do, diddly squat. zilch, nothing, provide a crime reference number and the case is closed. Not good enough, not by a country mile.   Met Engage? I don't think so.

Recent data suggests a drop in violent crime. Gang violence will make a significant contribution to the numbers. You are unlikely to be attacked by a stranger
    • Unfortunately there are plenty of shops which don't care and will sell vapes, alcohol and weed to minors, I'm sure they won't care about selling them fireworks. Or the kids nick them.
    • It’s getting a bit annoying. We’ve a nervous dog who trembles when they go off. I know to expect it around Halloween and Diwali but it seems to be happening more through the year.
