6-18 December

Dulwich Picture Gallery is hosting a fortnight of Christmas festivities from 6 - 18 December - the Gallery grounds will light up after dark with festive cheer. This will include a Winterlights trail through the grounds, giant novelty frame, cabins selling hot food and mulled drinks, storytelling in the secret cottage and pop-up choirs roaming the gardens singing carols. At weekends the Gallery will also host an artisan Christmas market of over fifty stalls brimming with high-quality stocking fillers.

  I think you were very lucky to get it cancelled, TBH. So far as I know, there is not some kind of unofficial period of grace after the publicised time.
