Gussy
Hi can anyone recommend a gastro paediatrican (who does private work) for my little man who has silent reflux, ideally at Kings (as its closest)? I've just moved down and was seeing a great guy at the Royal Free Hampstead but its too far for me to travel with two tots on the bus. Many thanks x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13272-gastro-paediatrician/ Share on other sites
EDmummy
Your GP should be able to recommend someone and will then direct you to the Guthrie Clinic (King's private centre) to make an appointment if they work out of that clinic. Almost all specialists work some of the time for the NHS so your GP should be able to recommend. Alternatively, ask your Royal Free doctor to recommend.Do you really need to go private? Gussy
Thanks Edmummy. No I don't really need to go privately but that all depends on the GP. My last GP didn't really have anything to say as baby was gaining weight etc etc, oh its just colic and will pass, so I had to take things into my own hands. I've asked my old consultant to recommend someone locally and I'm waiting to hear....in the meantime I'm waiting to register with a GP as I don't have 2 proofs of address yet (just moved here)! Crazy and frustrating that they won't register me - all the bills are in my husbands name :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13272-gastro-paediatrician/#findComment-361150 Share on other sites
kristymac1
They should still be able to register your son though, if your husband registers surely? Which doctors are you registering with - DMC have some doctors who are especially good with children & parents, Dr Ngo, Dr Bhatia (sp?), Dr Dallas and Dr Davidson in particular. Also don't assume Kings will necessarily have the best people, many of the children's specialist units operate out of St Thomas's Evelina Childrens unit.Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13272-gastro-paediatrician/#findComment-361154 Share on other sites
alicinha
Hi Gussy,My daughter is 4 months old, also with reflux, and is seeing Dr. Martha Ford-Adams at Kings. She is very good and my daughter is much better now that she is on medication (omeprazole 10mg). I'm seeing her via NHS but she told me, she also can see patients privately. The number for her secretary on the NHS is: 020 3299 3560 (ask if she deals with her private appointments or if she can give you the contact for her private secretary). Good Luck!
