Just a note to all, I was using the cashpoint at 10.45pm and was approached by two guys in their early 20s. They started by claiming I'd queue barged????? then proceeded to get a bit "johnny big bollocks" actually to the extent of clashing chests whilst trying to make me use the ATM....so obviously fuc*wits, but it could have been fairly intimidating for someone who wasn't already in a foul mood with a couple of post work wife-beaters on board.

To cut a short story shorter I told them to back off whilst pushing them away (or words to that effect). They then changed approach and took mortal offense to being sworn at, just when things were about to get interesting as if by magic a police man arrived...

No damage done other than a surge of adrenalin on the way home, just thought it's worth sharing. It just reminded me that SE22 is actually in SE london. Just keep an eye out for anyone around any ATM

I've witnessed similar in central London. It's often a tactic used to steal money. They time it so once you've put your pin in they start some kind of arguement, whilst distracted one of them will quickly get money out of your account.

Not saying these guys were up to this but sounds similar.

That was my first thought as well Atticus. LadyMacGabhann has been done a couple of times in the past this way

Basically, when using a cashpoint, once you have entered your pin, don?t get distracted until you have the card and the cash back in your hands. Not sure when the two idiots started on you last night - if it was before you entered your pin then I suspect they were just bulling for a fight ? but if it was during or after then yeah they were probably angling for cash

Not news tho ? cashpoints have been a target for aeons. Glad you are ok

And it?s not a London thing ? happens everywhere

    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may  be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
    • I strongly recommend Balayage salon in Lordship lane as everytime I visit, they make me feel very spicial with thier profisionalism and care.   I have been going there for the last 10 years maybe more, and will never exchange them for any other. They are profisional, welcoming and they also always have an offer. I feel like a new woman every time. X
