  1. There is a fish and chips place called Rosie's on east dulwich road, chips are nice but I don't eat fish so can't comment on that part!
  2. Our eldest went there a couple of days a week prior to starting school and we liked it, our youngest (3) is starting here in April post their half term break 2-3 mornings a week. The ladies who work there are really lovely, best way for communication with them is face to face I find as it's very noisy if you phone them and they don't have a separate office xx
  3. Just had the postman at my door and he said they are definitely moving down to Peckham, he seemed very unhappy about it.
  4. HI all, yes apparently there is CCTV so the police were requesting to see that and the police have also advised that there were two cars stolen and it wasn't just the family changing room that got worked over it was also the men's changing rooms so it became quite obvious there was more than one person in on the theft. I still feel so shocked that people had their cars stolen in the middle of the day whilst they were swimming but I guess phones and keys are easy to hide. x
  5. We have just been swimming at the pool and had our locker smashed in in the family changing room and our nanny's phone has been stolen, we have reported it to the police and they have advised that someone's keys were also stolen and the thieves then stole this poor person's car! Just a warning to all as I very foolishly thought that if we locked our belongings in a locker for 40 minutes they would be safe until we returned! I feel so sorry for the guy who had is car stolen. Jules x
  6. Nicola Watson, best money I ever spent and changed my life!! My first didn't sleep for two years (I didn't call her), my second was the same and at 6.5m I was on my knees with him waking every 40 minutes, she gave me a plan and on the 4th night he slept through and has ever since (3 years old next month), honestly cannot recommend her enough.
  7. Hi, if you are running them in Feb could you let me know? I could do the 25th but I don't eat fish and don't fancy a vegeatarian lesson so happy to wait until meat is next on the menu! Thanks, x
  8. Get in touch with Nicola Watson at Child Sleep solutions, she saved us when our 2nd child wouldn't sleep, problem fixed within 4 nights, she changed our lives!
  9. I have taken a redundancy at my job and finish up in 6 weeks and plan to be at SAHM to my 5 and 2.5 year old for the foreseeable future. I have a really stressful job and am fed up to the back teeth with only being half present if I'm lucky when I'm with the kids as my phone won't stop and I could tell as my 5 year old was getting older it was impacting him more and more. Anyways I guess what I am saying is if you can make it work financially then make the jump and see how it goes. I have no doubt there will be many moments where they will drive me beyond crazy but I feel in equal measure desperate to immerse myself in their lovely little lives rather than the nanny doing that. I am sure you will make the right choice xx
  10. I'm assuming with Tuesday being a bank holiday our normal recycling collection won't be done? We are already overflowing, let alone after Xmas and have to then wait for the next cycle of collections? Thanks
  11. Thank you for your message (and for the pms from others), we had another session today and he was so upset by it I have asked for a break for a month to really think about our options. It is not something I want to rush in to but the consultant has said that he is one of the more complicated cases he has seen and it took quite a lot for me to actually get him to the appointment as he knew what was coming so I am starting to think it may be better for him in the long run but going to take the Xmas break to think it over. Thanks again and merry Xmas all xx
  12. Hi all, for medical reasons it looks like my eldest son will need to be circumcised. We are having regular appointments with a private urologist to see if it will resolve on its own (with a bit of help) but it isn't and the process is traumatising him so I am likely to have to make a decision tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience of this and what the (I imagine horrid) recovery would be like for him? thanks xx
  13. I flew to Australia solo with my then 5m old, I had worked myself up in to such a state thinking it was going to be horrendous and honestly it was fine. As DaveR said pre crawling / walking is the best time to go. My son refused to sleep anywhere except on me so I had to make sure I ate and drank very little to avoid having to use the toilet too often (and he refused to sit anywhere else so I couldn't pull down my tray table to eat(!!) but managed it with a ergo baby carrier and a maclaren (baby in carrier and carry on etc in the pram during transit). Make friends with someone on the plane if you can i.e. someone sitting near you, I was changing my son in the toilet and he peed all over himself and the change table was slanted so ran all up his back (I laugh now) so I literally eyeballed the passenger I had become friendly with and asked him if he wouldn't mind bringing my carry on in so I could change him. Fellow passengers once they see you flying solo with such a small cute little baby will show you more kindness than you realise. good luck and have fun. xx
  14. work phone is Vodafone and personal phone is EE, Vodafone is far better in my opinion.
  15. Is this the petition? https://acinderellaline.formstack.com/forms/consultation I use this line every day and it is getting worse it seems by the month!!
  16. Hi, I am definitely interested! thanks, Jules
  17. Apparently there are some good ones up near sainsburys, unhelpfully I do not have the details but I think in the sports centre there .
  18. Blood test they will draw blood with a needle (my son got given numbing cream), skin prick test they put a dot of all sorts of things along his arm in liquid form and then will ever so slightly knick him with a razor to allow it to seep in to the skin and they area will have a reaction if he is truly allergic. My son had them when he was 2.5 and I thought it would be horrendous but he handled it really well. I have had them myself and can vouch it is not very painful. The person I saw near St Thomas' was excellent and well worth seeing. any questions let me know xx
  19. Hi Daniel, 2 mums here to two boys (4 and 2), welcome to the area! Jules xx
  20. Morning all, got to Peckham rye station this morning expecting to cram on to the 8.01 and there was a mystery 7.50am (delayed til 7.58) Blackfriars train (thameslink) that arrived, in all my years of catching a train from there it has never existed, it was brilliant, busy but exactly what is needed at that time of the morning. I cant see it listed for tomorrow on any train apps so I wanted to see if anyone knew if this might be a new regular train, a one off, or potentially a new train in place whilst southern try to slowly kill us all? Thanks! xx
