poppylucky
Just a warning to everyone to be very careful when you buy second hand furniture. A few weeks a go i bought a leather sofabed and a victorian cast iron bed base (without mattress, all bought inexpensively secondhand and good quality. Had it delivered and setup etc. I spent the first few nights on my itching and scratching, in the mornings i'd wake up with red bite marks across my neck and legs. I did'nt realise what the cause could be until it clicked that i'd just got a bed/sofa. To cut a long (nightmarish) story short, i called in the Pest Control experts and they confirmed it was a infestation of bedbugs! i was totally shocked and very upset. They treated the sofa/bed and the whole bedroom by sealing and steaming the whole room to 70 degrees!.I had to leave the house for a week and move in with a friend till it was finished being treated, in all the total cost was ?750....So what i thought was a bargain secondhand furniture, ended up costing me hundreds of pounds in the end! so to everyone, just be careful and check before you buy (if one can), as to avoid the 2weeks nightmare i just experienced.
