I am very sorry to report the sudden death of Stephen Humphrey.

Stephen was the former Southwark local studies librarian. He possessed an encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of Southwark and regularly gave talks to local groups. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

May he rest in peace.

Is that the Stephen who latterly worked as a library assistant at Dulwich library.

I know a Stephen who dotted about between Dulwich, Grove Vale and Nunhead libraries?

Condolences regardless

Sad news indeed - I have known Stephen Humphrey for a few years now and have always

been amazed by his incredible knowledge & love of local history. he warmed so well to

his subject whatever part of Southwark he was talking about - always a pleasure to be

in his company. R.I.P Stephen - you will be missed.

    • Seconded. Called this morning after reading this recommendation. He sent Andy round who diagnosed, checked and fixed a leaky shower. Very fairly priced, £124 for call out, materials and a good hours work. I’m delighted.
    • I've looked up previous media coverage and gather that the school warned pupils of the risk of police 'fines' for assembly under the extant Covid regulations.  Don't you think they might have felt it a duty, to both pupils and parents, to do so?
    • I'm glad that Barry's have posted.  Their mention of the merger soon led me to (a) bushy-tailed  PR guff about the new member joining the inpost 'family' and promising a bright happy world of lockers etc ahead. and (b) clear signs that the same problems related here seem to have been current and widespread even three months ago.  That's just from looking at one thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/vinted/comments/1nlv3u2/yodelinpost_merger_issues/
