Free! - Every Session! Fitness & Toning on the Rye - Sat @10am 16 to 60+

Recommended Posts

Its the Friday Rah Rah to get you ready for tomorrow morning, 10am by the caf? on the Rye (bring your 1 Ltr bottle of water too).

I may cycle down and do the circuit also on the bike with the powerwalkers.

Oh yes, we have a slight modification to the route too - where we normally do the running on the spot for 10-seconds, we will be heading back towards the caf? for 100m's then taking a sharp left on the path next to the railings..... this takes us up to the top (a bit of health & safety on my part).

** St Christopher's Hospice **

There is an event on at the Rose Pub on Sunday 26th Jan, 7pm, with a bunch of singers and others from the West end show's and the comedy club. The comedian is a tad on the ruuuuuude side and has a great historical view on my clan, the Irish; there is an actress from Avenue Q, she provided vocal coaching for my daughter, and there is also the lead singer from the Commitments (at the West End). On the balance of probs, they will each bring a bunch of lovelies too.

Team ED!

I had a massive puncture by Dulwich College, had to head back - yet I wanted to introduce a new tansverse twist exercise for you all. You will all have double next Saturday :-)

I'm not stealing your thunder on the Friday rah rah I promise but looking forward to the session tomorrow! Since I started this group, it's made being active so much more fun and I'm eager to start our mid week meet ups when the evenings get lighter!

My pleassure!

It was a fantastic session - full of fitness, fun, powerwalkers, joggers and some who are pretty nippy too :-)

If next Saturday is mild and sunny, expect a massive group - we may even exceed 35!

I have designed the sessions that everyone is empowered and participate in running parts of the session too - so without second guessing, you probably went home and felt as if you have been part of this group for weeks, months if not years!

BTW, inside of thighs..... slightly stiff by any chance this morning?

Hope the sun is out on Saturday guys! Or at the very least it's dry-see you all then!

I don't know how I didn't hear about this earlier! So, I am going to register and hopefully start coming along. I will be with the walkers! I am working tomorrow, but hopefully I will be able to come along soon!

This is a great public health project incorporating all members of the community to work as one, team building through 'low impact cardio' exercise.

Some are joggers, runners and walkers, working together as a team to sections of c.300m where the faster ones use the session as 'speed play' and circle back to the last person so in all..... they cover c.450m.

Select an objective, and use the group to get fitter: as a past triathlete, I selected a 4Km open sea swim in Bussleton, W' Auz and represented the UK along with 1,200 swimmers. I didn't win it but I did swim with a shark..... called ferma shark.

Totally free, just bring some change for a tea / coffee at the end, and a 1Ltr bottle of water which we use for arm, shoulder and back toning.

Best!

Just out of interest, can we have a virtual show of hands for starting up the Tuesday (or another night?) class again, now the nights are getting lighter? Maybe after the clocks go forward?

    • And now we have the worst labour government in many many decades who by moving to your position on the right are ushering in a far right reform government. Well done you.
    • You implied he did a good job in your first paragraph when you said you would have hated to see Corbyn lead the country through Covid - the alternative being Johnson, presumably? With the results we all saw. Unite - you have a problem with unions? Who work hard to see that their members get a fair deal in their workplace? How exactly are these people and groups "all as bad as each other"? In what way? Labour "purging their party of the far-left" has given us a weak prime minister who has apparently deserted any "left" (aka caring for other people and having decent moral principles) leanings he ever had. Which is why people appear to be leaving Labour in droves and voting, or intending to vote, Green or Lib Dem or for an independent Left candidate. Starmer has shot himself in the foot, in my opinion. But what would I know. What worked?! I don't know enough about what you are talking about to comment, but "believing" you know the reason someone did something does not make it true. I don't believe that Corbyn ever got "starstruck" or "forgot about his politics", but if you can provide evidence that those things are true, then fair enough. I don't think you can, though.
    • I think you need to get a grip If it's who I am thinking of, she's a young black girl in her twenties, has braids with bright colours through them and - I suspect - works with her father. It's always the same man behind the wheel and he's older than her, always in the same van, so I'm assuming it's a father-daughter combo which, if it is, I think is rather sweet.  They hustle hard in a job that is poorly paid, has little prospects, is relentless and thankless. The fact that they have stuck it out since the pandemic says a lot about them.  I think she's a lovely girl, who's perhaps a little shy - but she'll smile or chat back if you make the effort with her. And I admire her for sticking with that job for so long. Perhaps she's just one of these people who's naturally a bit clumsy or bashes things, the same way some people are heavy on their feet when they walk. But I wouldn't dream of jeopardising her job because she closes the slams the gate and doesn't 'kiss' the ring doorbell with her fingers.  Perhaps she's being passive aggressive because you are. And perhaps she also wishes she got to spend her time worrying about potential damage to her letterbox or her gate.  As for your gate / letterbox - you're talking about hypotheticals. Has there been any damage? No. Then go and live your life and worry about it when it happens.  (apols we have the wrong person, but some of my points still stand).
    • Greg did an amazing job! He built a cabinet in my living room and added shelving. A lovely guy and perfectionist who goes the extra mile. He really understands what you want and comes up with various options to meet your price range. Would highly recommend!
