Knock-through and sliding/pocket doors - anyone had this done?

We're planning to knock through between our living room and our daughter's playroom, but want to be able to shut away the plastic, play-doh and princess toys in the evenings.

We love the idea of adding sliding doors as pictured (not enough space for folding ones) or pocket doors which disappear into the wall.

Has anyone had this done? I'd love to see photos and get your builder recommendations please.

Hi. We did this. It was in a loft conversion and so more expensive because our sliding door had to be a fire door too.

No regrets though - looks brilliant and maximises the space fantastically. We used Eclisse:

Nope, we just got our builder who was doing the loft conversion to fit it. There were a few minor teething issues with the fitting if I remember correctly, but nothing serious.

PM if you would like some pics - I'm rubbish at resizing them.

Another enthusiastic endorsement for a sliding pocket door!

Ours is just as Yak described - an Eclisse door fitted by our builder during some other works. It caused the builder a bit of extra effort and cost us accordingly, but it's been one of the best choices we made in our renovations, maximising our limited space brilliantly.

Shout if you'd like photos of another example.

    • Hi, does anyone have their up to date number please?
    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.  If we were in Somerset and had a press, I'd consider it. Can't be that diffcult, can it?
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
