Freeview tv - inside aeriel / no connection - HELP

Can anyone technologically minded help.

We have a Samsung TV which has built in Freeview. For some reason though, it won't connect to Freeview (or anything for that matter).

We don't have an external aerial so have to make do with a inside aerial (which worked fine for the last TV). There is no actual TV aerial point in the flat though (only some old Sky leads that are no longer used) so it's saying that there is bad signal when I'm trying to get it connected.

I'm at a loss as to what to do, does anyone have any ideas?

I had similar issues and could not get any HD channels, I cured it by upgrading my firmware on the TV, I downloaded it to an USB stick to complete the installation (it doesn't always work if you rely on on-line upgrade) Type yourTV's full model number + firmware into google to check.

Have you retuned the TV? I just bought a second hand TV, didn't show any channels at all until it was retuned, then fine.

The tv is a few years old.

I'll try & upgrade my firmware on the TV as NomDePlume has suggested.
