Hi madmum, there is a thread from a few months ago with details of local rescues which re-home guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are gregarious, it's best to have a pair of males or females that have been together since they were baby pigs.

I really recommend these people. I got two new guinea pigs from them a couple of weeks ago. The lady was lovely and knowledgeable, and is doing a brilliant job in rescuing unwanted piggies. They have males and females, from babies upwards. They only request a donation:

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
