pjal
Hi thereA mouse has escaped under our floorboards, died and is now busy decomposing. The noxious smell is rising into understairs cupboard as it is the only area of exposed floorboards. We need to cover the cracks and carpet seems the obvious method - thicker the better. Any other decomposing mouse management tips welcomeThanks07342 059948 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/135056-decomposing-mouse-carpet-offcuts-urgently-please/ Share on other sites

Peckhampam
Yes, in my experience it will soon be a dried out husk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/135056-decomposing-mouse-carpet-offcuts-urgently-please/#findComment-1083370 Share on other sites
intexasatthe moment
Yes I agree ,it will just shrivel up and dry out . Cotton wool with essential oil might help - rosemary or something . pjal
Helpful. Thanks. Actually seems to be starting to fade already. Thought it would go on for weeks. DulwichFox
This time of year there should be no problem with Maggots / Flies. Smell can be over-powering but should fade after 2-3 weeks. Will dry out quicker in the summer. I used to have a real problem with mice but now use the high frequency plug-ins. Very few mice over last few years. Just the odd one here and there. The plug-ins work best in areas with hard surfaces.. i.e. Kitchens. I have 3 units in my kitchen but my kitchen is 18-19 ft long. Steel wool and expanding foam, not seen any for months, not since I found actual entering gap, behind tumble dryer/ around pipe.
