@Willard, first of all let it be clear I have no interest in convincing anyone. I describe what I think and why, but we all have different needs priorities opinions etc.

I find a GPS tracker more important than an alarm. I use my bike almost every day, but would leave it unused for a couple of weeks in the summer and during Christmas. My bike has a 12Ah battery; when the battery is new, the bike starts just fine after 2 weeks idle, but when the battery is not new, the bike struggles after 2 weeks. I am therefore reluctant to add additional strain to the battery.

I would not replace my tracker with an alarm because I find the tracker more effective; in a residential area like Dulwich you might hope neighbours might, maybe, be alerted by an alarm, but in central London no one gives a damn.

This is my 2 cents.

Hi Willard,

Hindmans Road - south of Upland Road is in East dulwich ward and ablate have free motorbike ground anchors.

Hopefully the Peckham Rye ward councillors will choose to support this type of crime prevention at some point if you live north of Upland Roads.

Like I said, I'm in Peckham Rye ward. I'm north of Upland Rd, close to Tyrell. I had my anchor fitted last summer. The Peckham Rye ward councillors already support this initiative, it's not just you!

    • I echo the previous recommendation of Aria. I have used his services on several occasions now and I am always impressed by 1) the speed of his response,  2) his honest pricing,  3) the quality of his interventions.  I had a washing machine crisis the other day where my old appliance started leaking badly and into the flat below.  Aria can within an hour of my call and sorted the whole thing immediately.  Impressive! Highly recommended!
    • Helen Hayes has represented Dulwich and West Norwood since the boundary change in 2024. The OP said Helen had already contacted Capita on their behalf, so I'm guessing she is their MP, otherwise she would have directed them to the appropriate person (unless she was particularly keen to take on extra work!)
    • Hi there. I need to move and it doesn't feel very eco friendly to buy boxes - if anyone has any I could reuse?  Happy to return once I've moved if you want to keep them! I'm moving Feb 26th so I'd be looking for some to use before then. Thank you! Kate
    • Ellie Reeves is the local MP for much of East Dulwich. Depends where you live I guess. https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP
