Alan Dale
My mate has bought a period house in ED. He immediately took down the net curtains and replaced them with expensive wooden plantation shutters and yesterday I noticed that he had added the house number in frosting in the pane of glass above their front door. Are these additions compulsory now? Is it just a trend or do you think these additions will stand the test of time?It seems that you can track the gentrification of a street using the shutters:net curtains ratio. Nero
I think they are a trend. I think the frosting thing will look dated within five years. I expect there will be some kind of Benjamin Britten vintage vibe before long that tells us that nets and chintz and 'respectability' are in. *Bob*
The Admin is a man who likes to keep an eye on things. I'd say he's plumped for nets as they offer maximum snoop with minimum visibility.Am I right, Mr A?
