Is it true that if you drive into the congestion charge zone before 7 am and stay in the zone until 6 pm then you do not incur the charge?

Yes, in before 7 but you can leave anytime

The charge is to enter the zone not exit

I thought that just driving within the zone was enough - there are mobile units that check number plates. If you are stationary throughout the time there is no charge AFAIK

The TfL website does indeed have all the info that is what it is there for.

Hope the western extension does get abolished though.

(I'm a biker it doesn't bother me but I care about motorists needs too!)
