Does anyone know of somewhere locally (withing walking distance of ED) where a lone person can go for Christmas lunch, and some company, this year?

I know that you do have the option of the expensive pub lunch, but if you are a pensioner this is no good to you, nor may a pub atmostphere be for you either.

Nothing seems to have been advertised for Christmas Day, that I am aware of, is there anything out there?

Seasons greetings and thanks.

Hi I*rate

I found this link. I know they mention 16th December, but maybe you can give them a call.

Don?t Be Home Alone on Christmas Day

People Care Association are once again running their free Christmas Day Party at Bacon's College in Rotherhithe on Christmas Day. Traditional Christmas meals will be served at 1.00pm and they are providing free door to door transport and entertainment.

To book your place, please phone Les Alden on 020 3355 2619 by 16th December.

Many thanks for your advice, Rotherhithe is too far away unfortunately.

However, the lonesome person, who was at a loss as to what to do this year, did get through the day reasonably well then had the company of her family later on.

It was surprising to see how little was available around ED on Christmas Day, London can be a big lonely place!

Very kind regards for a happy Christmas to all and best wishes for joy and peace in 2017.

    • Thanks James. I will correct my posts referencing full time work. His register of interests simply states "Primary School Teacher" without mentioning that it is limited hours.  https://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/mgDeclarationSubmission.aspx?UID=50001002&HID=2492&FID=0&HPID=0   The same claim is made elsewhere without mentioning part time or limited hours: https://x.com/mcash?lang=en : "Primary School Teacher" "I am a teacher and this is my publicly stated desire to overthrow capitalism."   https://southwarknews.co.uk/featured/breaking-news-james-mcash-defects-to-the-green-party-seven-months-after-his-southwark-labour-leadership-victory-was-overturned/ "McAsh went on to say that “as a primary school teacher, trade unionist, and socialist, my values and principles have not changed, but they are no longer consistent with the Labour Party,” but added that they “are consistent with the Green Party”." https://southwarklabour.com/profile/james-mcash/ "James is a local primary school teacher "   All of this implies regular employment as  full time teacher.
