Yes, it's fine - my first bus trip was the 37 to Herne Hill actually, when I was using a proper pram rather than a maclaren, and was fine. You do on occasion have to wait for a bus that isn't already full of buggies/prams, but that's the same with any bus, and I've never had a major wait. My tip would be to go on front-ways but off backwards if that makes sense!

I take the bus all over the place with the pram and it is generally ok. You do sometimes have to wait for a second bus but not that often and if you do there is not a great deal you can do about it. As Saffron says the worst times are after school when Mums are picking their children up and also have their little ones with them or there are lots of teenagers crowding the aisles. Honestly you'll be fine and the 37 is not that crowded.

Good luck

I hope you weren't one of the people trying to get on a 37 this lunchtime?! By the time we got to Brixton there were 4 buggies (two upright, two collapsed) on the bus, and the driver had to tell a 5th mother she couldn't get on. I don't know if it's bad timing but I've had real trouble with this route lately, having to wait for two or three buses (with 10-20 min waits between each one)before I could get on. Today I just bit the bullet and collapsed the buggy with one hand whilst holding my daughter and three bags in the other!

All I can do is wish you luck - you'll probably be fine but I just needed to rant a little ;-)

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
