akc74
Is it easy?! I am about to do my first bus trip and just want reassurance that it's straightforward - don't want to be stuck at the stop, unable to board as there's no room for the pram...Any regulars able to reassure?!Thanks. Belle
Yes, it's fine - my first bus trip was the 37 to Herne Hill actually, when I was using a proper pram rather than a maclaren, and was fine. You do on occasion have to wait for a bus that isn't already full of buggies/prams, but that's the same with any bus, and I've never had a major wait. My tip would be to go on front-ways but off backwards if that makes sense! Saffron
Try to avoid times when you know there will be lots of school kids on the bus! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13673-37-to-brixton-with-a-pram/#findComment-369417 Share on other sites
canadianlisa
I take the bus all over the place with the pram and it is generally ok. You do sometimes have to wait for a second bus but not that often and if you do there is not a great deal you can do about it. As Saffron says the worst times are after school when Mums are picking their children up and also have their little ones with them or there are lots of teenagers crowding the aisles. Honestly you'll be fine and the 37 is not that crowded. Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13673-37-to-brixton-with-a-pram/#findComment-369425 Share on other sites

louiseneilan
I hope you weren't one of the people trying to get on a 37 this lunchtime?! By the time we got to Brixton there were 4 buggies (two upright, two collapsed) on the bus, and the driver had to tell a 5th mother she couldn't get on. I don't know if it's bad timing but I've had real trouble with this route lately, having to wait for two or three buses (with 10-20 min waits between each one)before I could get on. Today I just bit the bullet and collapsed the buggy with one hand whilst holding my daughter and three bags in the other! All I can do is wish you luck - you'll probably be fine but I just needed to rant a little ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13673-37-to-brixton-with-a-pram/#findComment-369799 Share on other sites
akc74
Yikes no I wasn't there today! I won't be able to collapse my chariot so will just have to wait if it's full. It's tomorrow, and I am going to go mid-morning - hopefully less busy than lunchtime?! We'll see... womanofdulwich
maybe walk part of the way and get the no 4? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13673-37-to-brixton-with-a-pram/#findComment-369811 Share on other sites
canadianlisa
Or you could try the P4 if you live close to West Dulwich / Dulwich Village. It is usually fine to get on, although you have to ask the driver if you can get on through the back door as it is a small bus.
