Just to let everyone know, I was at home this morning (by chance and by luck) and was going downstairs, when I saw the shadow of someone standing at the door. I assumed it might be someone delivering a package and opened the door, only to find a startled a young man in a hoodie. He asked for 'David', clearly having nothing else to say to me, and then left very quickly. I can't help but feel that I was minutes from being burgled!

Other night i woke up to dream feed my baby at about 4amish and as i walked past my living room saw camera flash in the window some black young male was taking pictures of the houses in Oglander road, called police woke my neighbour by calling her and guy was gone in a flash. now second day no sleep for us :((( very much worried, have little baby at home and you never know what those B******* will do to get what they want.

Dee.

I came home in winter one year to see a lady, maybe 30, walking up my steps. I did not recognise her and asked who she wanted. She gave the name of someone who did not live at my house. Now what I should have done was say yes, I'll just get her and see what the response with. She then seemed to vapourise. I reported it to whoever (crime cascade, community police) and was told that a small group was doing the rounds casing joints.

One break in in 20 odd years, and this, but not a lot else. I hope the rest of you are similarly crime free

    • It was a reactionary post and inappropriate when talking about a real case and a real person who was harmed.  London streets are generally pretty safe.  Sadly violent crime happens from time to time, as it always has.
    • Do tell, CPR Dave, what the spiteful jealous stuff is - I'm intrigued.  Agree - Burnham is a top class communicator (polar opposite of Starmer) he'd do a great job of uniting the party. I still think Wes Streeting has the edge, though I'm sure he has more enemies as well.
    • This is a huge part of the problem.   Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country.    There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.
    • I heard today there was a burglary in Lacon Road yesterday evening between 20.00 - 22.00,  apparently the owners were home at the time & thieves got away with electrical items along with the owners car!  Wtf!   Anyone heard anything else?
