Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can help us - we're looking at renting a house in this estate and wanted to know if people have any experience of living there. What is it like at night? Should we be concerned about walking back from the station in the dark and are there any problems with gangs/overly antisocial behaviour etc that people know about? We currently live in ED/Camberwell borders (off Dog Kennel Hill) - we are not shrinking violets but we want to live somewhere safe with our young family.

Really appreciate any thoughts!

B

I live up the road just a little so don't know what the estate itself is like, but the area is lovely. The park of course, the pubs (Clockhouse / Rye Hotel), a great doctors surgery (Nunhead Grove), Nunhead shops. Come to police ward panels and make yourself known to the local safer neighbourhood teams, the local police, which may make you feel safer, but I am not aware of any particular issues around there. Enjoy!

    • This is a huge part of the problem.   Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country.    There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.
    • I heard today there was a burglary in Lacon Road yesterday evening between 20.00 - 22.00,  apparently the owners were home at the time & thieves got away with electrical items along with the owners car!  Wtf!   Anyone heard anything else?
    • What standing on the world stage? Starmer is a wannebe leader, no charisma, no passion, no leadership but tonnes of dithering, wringing his hands and pooing his pants.  I'd love to see Burnham give him a run for his money. Reason he became Mayor of Manchester was due to him no longer wanting to be in front line politics.  This thread has now gone well off topic, perhaps it needs renaming.
