pot hole on pavement twisting ankle

not looking on the pavement while walking i twisted my ankle on a pothole which had thames water on it not sure who to report this to

if my ankle turns out to be a severe sprain and i have time off work can i ask for compensation

Why not? You weren't looking so it's bound to be someone else's fault

If you trip and cause an injury due to uneven pavement you can sue the Council if the trip hazard is over a certain measurement. I don't see why the same can't apply to Thames Water installations. Take photos of where you fell and the "pot-hole" that caused it and photos of any bruising. Any injury would have to be confirmed by a medical report.
