Just a heads up on the current situation. I was out walking about an hour ago and used GG footpath as I always do. I have to report some rather hazardous and deep puddles have formed for probably 2/3 of the entire path from end to end. This may not be a concern to many, but for those with disabilities, elderly people and parents with youngsters on foot this could be extremely tricky. Added to this, we are expecting snow to form later this afternoon with an early clearance and ice hazards through tonight. Take care everyone.

Louisa.

Lots of pavements in SE22 are uneven and cracked in places, meaning that when it rains only even somewhat heavily, ponding occurs. Just look at the state of the footpaths on the stretch of LL opposite ESPH and you get the picture. (Likewise FHR, Goodrich Road, CPR etc. etc.). Goodness knows who laid them and who signed off on them. Oh well, it's only public money.

    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
